Colors 2 Life (C2L) was started in 2010 as a volunteer-based organization to address poverty and social exclusion. We through voluntary support of students, young professionals and senior citizens worked on multiple social issues. We provided relief programs for homeless poor; flood affected victims etc. We worked with orphanages and old age homes across Chennai for renovation support and outreach programs. We flowed like a river moving along wherever the need arose around us.
C2L is now rebranded with a renewed approach that intends to bring long-term changes to the social issues other than short-term relief programs. We have been studying various forms of discrimination and its root causes all along. We have taken stock of our raw field experience and worked out a new philosophy and approach to tackle the structural issues in our society. We have streamlined our work into five major themes, and they are:) Education for All, ii) Healthy Society for All, iii) Sustainable Livelihood for All, iv) Safe Living Planet for All and v) Inclusive Society for All.
Our logo indicates through its each finger our work themes and we believe it is by addressing these five spectra of development we could usher prosperous life for all. All our programs are fundamentally based on the philosophy that we are only means to achieve progress and C2L will serve as bridge to happiness for our beneficiaries. Our approach is democratic, and we always provide space for the “voices from the field” to influence our thinking and implementation strategies.
